About

A working singer. And a singing coach.

Years of music, hundreds of gigs, a small roster of students, and the best job in the world. Here's how I got here — and what makes me a good fit for what you're after.

Based in Wigan, Greater Manchester UK-wide for performance In-person & online for lessons

Where it started.

The voice was always there. The rest took longer.

Like most people who end up making a living from music, I started young — singing along to whatever was playing, working out how the good ones did what they did, dragging family members in to sit through whatever I'd just learned that week.

But the voice is the easy part. What took years to learn was everything around it — reading a room, holding a microphone properly, knowing when to lean in and when to lean back, performing in a wedding marquee versus a jazz club versus a corporate ballroom. That came from gigging. Working men's clubs, function bands, weddings, pub residencies, the occasional radio session. Hundreds of nights of small lessons.

Different rooms, different songs. Same job — read it, fill it, leave it better than I found it.

Where I'm at now.

The diary stretches across the UK. From The Old Courts in Wigan to The Lowry in Salford, BBC Radio Manchester sessions to Manchester Folk Festival, Haigh Hall weddings to corporate gala dinners. Different room every weekend, same job. Soul, pop, jazz, folk and original material, performed solo with backing tracks, acoustic with guitar, or with a full band.

I also teach. A small roster of students from the Wigan studio (in-person) and online via Zoom — all abilities, all ages from 12 up. The teaching keeps my voice sharp and the gigging keeps me honest about what students actually need. Most of my students come for a first lesson and stay for years — that's how I know it's working.

The whole point of this site is so you can get a feel for whether what I do fits what you're after — whether that's a singer to fill a room or a coach to help you find your voice. If you think it does, drop me a line.

Where I've sung.

A few of the rooms I've sung in over the years — though the bulk of the work is private weddings, corporate events, and intimate parties that don't make a public list. The named venues are the ones I'm proudest to have played.

The Old Courts Wigan · Theatre
BBC Radio Manchester Live session
The Lowry Salford · Theatre
Manchester Folk Festival Festival
Haigh Hall Wigan · Weddings & events
Royal Northern College of Music Manchester

Plus countless weddings, corporate dinners, gala nights, festivals, hotels, bars and private parties across the UK that don't make the public list.
